Ian Ritchie – Jims Trees

Covering the NSW Mid North Coast.

Ian joined the Jim’s team in June 2004. His interest in trees started in the 80’s when still at school he worked weekends and holidays on a friend’s farm forest at Robertson. This initial contact with trees progressed to Ian and his wife Carol establishing their own 30 Ha farm forest near Dorrigo. In March 1997 they planted 18,000 native trees (mainly Sydney Blue gum and Hoop Pine) and now manage these trees as a farm forest and encourage neighbouring farmers to do the same.

Ian started his Jims Trees business in the Blue Mountains while undergoing the certificate 3 in Arboriculture at Ryde TAFE. Having completed the 2 years training Ian and his family recently moved back to the Mid North Coast. Ian also gained training in storm damage and rescue from the Blue Mountains SES.

When the opportunity came up for a tree pruning/removal franchise with Jim’s in this area he jumped at the chance. Having already established most of his skills with forestry and the SES Ian loved the idea of working outdoors and in the community.

You will find Ian a very courteous, honest and friendly operator and with the knowledge that for every tree he removes he has planted many times more.

You can be assured of great service when anyone from Jim’s attends to your jobs.

For any tree removal, pruning, mulching or milling, call Ian on or call the Jim’s central number on 131546.

ASK Ian about PORTABLE MILLING. You can have the trunk cut into useful slab timber, great for outdoor furniture or feature coffee table.
